    This the kind of “breaking legs and handing out the crutches” that Kevin Carson likes to talk about. By interfering with a peaceful citizen’s efforts to keep drunken drivers off the street the State directly implicates itself in subsequent drunk driving deaths. It doesn’t make it solely responsible of course, but enough to convict it. :)

      Pretty much, except that they’re not even offering a government welfare scheme in response to the problem they’re causing: the State’s proposed alternative remedy is just to pull people over and arrest them. So if anything, this is more like breaking legs, and then kicking the cripple while he’s down.
