Here's a pretty old post from the blog archives of Geekery Today; it was written about 17 years ago, in 2007, on the World Wide Web.

Here’s a few items that I noticed in Ron Paul’s platform on Immigration and Border Security today. Emphasis is mine.

  • Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals. …

  • No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That's a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws. …

  • Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. …

Given these three proposals, we can infer the following from their conjunction:

  • We must do whatever it takes to aggressively and rigidly enforce the terms of a system of laws admittedly incoherent and unfair.

Time to get the ring ready for another ideological Texas Death Match.

He once ate a gigantic burrito in a minute flat and then never farted even once in the same room as others. He takes that sacrifice for us. He understands and protects us. One time my father touched me. And Ron Paul has many names. Jesus, Ron Paul, Xenu, L Ron Hubbard, Henry Winkler. Behold his power and be in awe for he shall show you the way to true happiness.

    Sometimes I eat many different things but the thing I eat the most is humble pie. Humble pie served by Ron Paul. For he teaches me to be humble and to protect the constitution.

    Ron Paul is the defender of space. He is our dear leader and he shall not be forgotten. It is said that one day he shall enter a new realm. A realm of bliss and brilliant lights. Yet he shall not remain. For it is we that he is sent to defend. Nothing shall stop him in his goal. Vote for Ron Paul 2008.

    Proving once more, the legacy of Daniil Kharms, that often the most effective weapon against false authority is mockery.
