Hurling Knives at Women is Erotic, according to Artsy-Fartsy French Film

Here's a pretty old legacy post from the blog archives of Geekery Today; it was written about 23 years ago, in 2001, on the World Wide Web.

Hey, have you ever thought of slashing people up with knives as a perfect metaphor for sex? Do you get off on a motionless woman’s life being imperiled? Then you too can indulge in artsy-fartsy French films and babble about how a man hurling steel blades at a woman is "something sexier than sex, at once a perfect metaphor and a convincing substitute for it." You too can be an armchair sadofascist and talk about how it meets "the challenge of how to bring genuine erotic heat to the screen." Meanwhile, I will be puking.
