Shameless Self-promotion Sunday #22

Here's a pretty old post from the blog archives of Geekery Today; it was written about 16 years ago, in 2008, on the World Wide Web.

It’s Sunday; you know what that means. Promote away–and be shameless as you wanna be.

What have you been up to in the past week? Write anything? Leave a link and a short description for your post in the comments.

I’ve seen one other blogger use this open forum approach to Sunday. Is it a new blogging fad I’ve missed out on or something?

    Nick,

Well. I originally got the idea from the feature on feministe. I don’t know how much of a fad there is; but it’s a good idea and feministe is a popular site these days, so it may have spread elsewhere from there.

A lot of folks (e.g., Alas) also have a particular day for “Open Threads,” which are somewhat more discussion-oriented and less link-oriented.

I’d do better with a discussion oriented one right now — not that you have to change it for me.

I haven’t updated my blog in ages. I did save the beginning of a few posts a day or so ago. I was quoting Dennis K on the bailout. He called it an act of “class warfare”.

    Oh, goody!

With so many clients, friends, and relatives asking my opinion on the financial crisis, I finally decided to start blogging my thoughts online so that I can just point them to my opinions. Hence, two days ago I started Anarchy Without Bombs at http://www.anarchywithoutbombs.com and my first post was on the housing crisis. Probably nothing that the average reader here doesn’t already know, but I’m still excited to have lost my virginity.
