    (Background: This website consists mostly of liberal Obama-supporters.) I think the train of thought is best summarized by the guy who cites Saul Alinsky. Here is a sample of what he says:

    “I’ve seen both the happy and the lovely end of election nights. I’ve seen many a friend get discouraged and consider throwing in the towel on this whole politics thing. Lord knows I’ve considered doing it myself a few times. One question always brings me back though: what’s the alternative? Sitting at home?… The truth I come back to after every defeat though is that not getting involved is equivalent to supporting the status quo.”

    The reply by user TSR right afterward is priceless.
